Appellation of Origin:
Selected grapes from Plana del Bou estate (Garnacha) and Mas Moió estate (Cariñena) in the Alt Penedès region (Catalonia, Spain) at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level.
Vinification & Ageing:
After complete de-stemming, the grapes are macerated for 48 hours. Fermentation on the skins for 15-18 days at 23º- 27ºC. Bleeding off a portion of red wine juice (18%) prior to malolactic fermentation. Aged on 300L first year French oak barrels for 13 months.
The aroma is intense, rich with notes of ripe black fruit, spice and balsamic touches. On the palate it offers a fleshy texture, with smoky notes and silky tannins.
Ideal with game dishes, stews and cured cheeses.
