PINOT NOIR: La Masía

Climate

Vineyard:  El Parany – Font-Rubí (280 m altitude).  Organically certified (CCPAE).

Year planted 2004. Growing system:  Cordon de Royat.

Soil:  loam, moderately depth, medium texture and little big pieces. Brown-yellow colour.

Farming

Warm climate under the influence of the prelittoral Mediterranean mountain range: cold winters and hot summers (important contrast of the low and high temperatures). Rainfall average between 500-600 l/m².

Tasting note

Nose: Sensual, skilfully crafted wine that correctly combine floral (violet, jasmine) and fresh red fruits (raspberry) aromas.

Palate: Fresh, sweet-toothed, mouth-filling that reminds olfactory sensations, with a long and persistent aftertaste.

Starters: ham or cheese croquettes, grilled vegetables on a toast…
Pasta with Bolognese sauce, fideua (noodles)
Rice with vegetables
Pizza and ‘empanada’ filled with vegetables
Piquillo peppers filled with cod and grilled vegetables, cod in ‘samfaina’ (vegetables), grouper with garlic mousseline
Fowl (chicken, baked turkey).
