DAHLIA GREY 2016 – DO PENEDES
|Vineyard: Can Almirall (200 m altitude).
Year planted 1990. Growing system: Cordon de Royat.
Soil: It is the typical calcareous soil of Penedes, well drained and moderately depth, clay-loam and medium texture with little big pieces. Brown colour. 12% slope.
|Warm climate under the influence of the prelittoral Mediterranean mountain range: cold winters and hot summers (important contrast of the low and high temperatures). Rainfall average between 500-600 l/m².|
|Hand-harvested and carried to the winery in boxes where the grapes are cooled in the cold storage unit. From there to the press for a very soft crushing of the cooled grapes to obtain the free-run juice that later on will become an elegant with complexity wine. Fermentation in stainless still tanks at an average temperature of 17ºC to keep the own floral character of this variety (orange blossom and jasmine).|
|Fresh and floral, hints of rose and jasmine, notable acidity, intense with a long and lingering aftertaste.|
